NUCMAN Software
Deutsch
NucMan is a WINDOWS based software package for the management of nuclear libraries. It contains a database of 1,554 nuclides with 31,266 gamma-ray entries. This database provides the basis for the generation of task-specific user libraries for spectrometry applications. The data are from the updated second edition of the “Catalog of Gamma-Rays from Radioactive Decay, Part I and II” by Reus and Westmeier.
NUCMAN comes with a Gamma Master Library which contains data from all gamma emitting radionuclides with a half-life greater than 10 seconds. A maximum of 32 gamma-ray energies and their corresponding intensities are listed for each nuclide. The master library contains over 1550 nuclides with over 31,000 gamma-ray entries.
The Alpha Master Library contains data on 390 nuclides with 1270 lines;
a maximum of 12 lines is listed for one nuclide.
The software is easy to use and runs under all current 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.
There are two folders: one for the creation of new or extension of existing libraries by transferring information from a source library. The second folder provides the tools for editing the data in a library e.g. creating , deleting or re-ordering nuclides, or modifying any data.
The data for the Gamma Master Library are extracted from the update of the latest version of the Reus /Westmeier Catalog (refence below) which is a compilation and evaluation of gamma-ray and other data related to the decay of all known nuclides extracted from the literature and electronic sources. The cutoff date of the update evaluation is January 1, 2000

The data for the Alpha Master Library were extracted from the Westmeier/Merklin Catalog (reference below) which is a compilation and evaluation of alpha particle and other data related to the decay of known nuclides from the literature and electronic sources with a cutoff date of June 1985.
